Talking Aloud is a Comedy Podcast from Brunei, download episode 69 From Sunday Evening 1 April 2012

Burger King today announced the launch of its latest salvo in the battle of the Burger Wars - the new left-handed Whopper - which will become available worldwide tomorrow April 1.

Brunei's most desired burger will still consist of lettuce, onions, pickles, mayonnaise, ketchup and four-ounce flame-grilled burger patty, but the sandwich has been re-designed to fit more comfortably in the left hand. This will result in fewer condiment 'spills' for left-handed hamburger lovers.

Good news for left-handed Bruneians travelling all the way to Kota Kinabalu or Singapore just to buy a burger from Burger King. Now their Burger King experience will be enhanced by a leftie-friendly burger. WHAT TOOK THEM SO LONG?

The new Left-Handed Whopper will have all the condiments rotated 180 degrees, thereby redistributing the weight of the sandwich so that the bulk of them skew to the left.

"We have always been proud of the fact that we offered 1,024 ways to order our flagship Whopper sandwich, now we are offering 1,025 ways! It's the ultimate 'Have It Your Way' for our left-handed customers," says a spokeperson for Burger King.

"We are delighted that Burger King has recognised the difficulties of holding a hamburger in your left hand that has a natural right bias to it. We urge all left handed hamburger lovers to visit their nearest Burger King and taste the difference for themselves."

Speaking of what took them so long, Talking Aloud asked when Burger King is opening in Brunei. it was said, in a whisper, that plans are underway to open branches in Labi, Belait and Bangar, Temburong. In Brunei-Muara, sites in Putat and Kasat are being looked at.

UNBELIEVEABLE!!!!!

Bit lot of nothing going on in Brunei this week.

We first talked about Berambang Island, we went there before it was cool but lately some officials went there and wowed at it. Meh we were there and talked about it first. Whatever laggards!

We talked about Mr Feel Good's column in Brunei Times. Quite a good column about how to be active and feel good about it in this busy world of ours. its out on Mondays in the Brunei Times, check it out.

Then its zombie survival, marvel at our zombie knowledge as we dissect why its bad to hole up in the Mall Gadong in case of a Zombie invasion.

Next its orchidrow's blog read by our very own Queen. Thank you to orchidrow for such a wonderful blog. Check her out at orchidrow.com

Finally we ask why Brunei drivers are so bad at indicating (signal in the local venacular)

Brunei become champions this weekend, winning the Hassanal Bolkiah trophy after beating Indonesia. It left me and nas a bit dumbfounded, being atypical Bruneians we don't really follow football but we remain proud and I hope it shows in our podcast.

On the talking aloud podcast side, we were pulled from other podcasts for racist jokes and a listener complaint made me pull Episode 67 part I. I'm quite upset still about it but I shall keep podcasting as long as someone is still downloading. Thank you for the huge numbers downloading episode 66. I love you!

I played some bits from the BBC friday night comedy podcast to illustrate my disdain of the Iran and Israel situation. A bit heavy for this podcast but I feel so annoyed with the antics over there, I wanted to use laughter to belittle them.

THE WHEAT is back with his musings. A wonderful segment, guys go check out his podcast on itunes: Corner Geeks. And his website http://blog.thewheatfield.org/

Finally we talk about the death of a one year old child as stated in a letter to the Borneo Bulletin

Well an old friend of the show, a certain Wu Chun is back. Listen as Nas interviews him about his commitment to spread the love about World cancer Day. Really emotional piece about his mum and her fatal battle with cancer.

But we talk about World Cancer Day and guess who's on? None other than the lovely Justcinful, find out why monrings are not her thing.

Kristal Astro gives me free stuff and we find out how big whore I am for corporate freebies.

Finally we share our experiences about National Day in Brunei. Was a fun day out for the talking aloud podcast let me tell you!

This episode is much ado about nothing at first, we went back over Whitney's Houston's tragic death and gassed about Adele and her winnings at the grammys.

In between, we played the local Bruneian artist featured in "Izzy Bizzy Studios" check them out on their fanbook page.

Standard Chartered Bank "Run for a reason" is back and according to the polls on facebook, you all wanted nas to run in the race and me to do 21 km! I have signed the form and handed in it. I am officially committed!

Finally its National Day in Brunei! I must say I'm enjoying the build up to it cos I'm involved in the celebrations this time. Thanks to Jai and all the trainers from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports for making this a fun experience.

This episode covers Whitney Houston who recently died. She was an international sensation at one point and in Brunei gained legions of fans, both young and old. I, first off, would like to apologise to those fans. I wasn't reverent to her memory. But, hear me out, she was a huge star and though I am not a fan, I tried to convey how she did touch me all the way here in Brunei. If someone in, way over there in America, can do that, then by golly, she IS worthy of adulation.

Cornered Geeks by the Wheat, hear his podcast by searching for "Corner Geeks" on iTunes. This week he didn't cover anything so we made up for it by talking about the Brunei Times app and Safego.

Then we have a contribution from a long-time fan and her take on exercise.

Standard Chartered Bank "Run for a reason" is our last topic. If you want nas to run in the race and me to do 21 or 15 or 5 km then go to our facebook page "Talking Aloud" and vote in the polls.

Finally I play a song in memory of Whitney Houston by MrRaplhWilliams on Youtube. Check him out.

Today my batteries ran out, but fortunately I had my iPhone. So this time we went into the recent Tweet-up (see ProjekBrunei.com) which was loads of fun. Listening back I sounded a little harsh saying "I wish there was apoint to the tweet-up" which isn't fair, you can hear how much fun we had at the tweet-up. So i left it in to show my state of mind at that time but I would have said something else with hindsight. But thats for the the future.

Cornered Geeks by the Wheat, hear his podcast by searching for "Corner Geeks" on iTunes. This week he covers cheap tablets in Brunei.

Then I read out comments from Star Wars The Old Republic Brunei Facebook. Fast forward if you're sick of this. But we made a funny gay joke about it.

Another read out, this time I asked "What is the most embarassing way to die?"

Chatted about Ru Paul Season 4, an "Next Top Model" meets "Project Runway" with bitchy drag queens reality show from America. The conversation degenerates to one of Brunei's fave pastimes "Mencari Pondan," Looking for Trannys.

This podcast episode was recorded in yet another restaurant with this years Brunei Youth Leader for the SSEAYP programme to Japan, our very own NAS. Here are the highlights:

We start off by talking aloud about the SSEAYP programme and what its all about. We chat about Nas' experiences as Youth leader.

G33K Chic: Blackberry blackout! Does this herald the rise of the two A's, Aplle and Andriod in the Brunei market? Wait they're already dominant, never mind.

Yappin' Moovies: Real steel, a moovie that Nas liked and found suitably packed full of heat.

Deadly news: Iranian plot to kill Saudi diplomat using the mexican mafia. Bit dull, but we made fun of it so its cool.

We say good luck to Nas and this may be the last time we can interview nas for the podcast before he goes off on SSEAYP. Good luck and all the best to the Bruneian contingent. Make us proud!
